The hostel is in a great location, close to all the main sightseeing spots and only a short walk from the city center. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the rooms are comfortable and even have double beds, which is a rare find in a hostel. the common areas are spacious and well-equipped, with a cozy bar and plenty of toilets and showers. They even provide crocks to wear, which is a nice touch.
The wifi connection is not the best and there are sometimes cold showers upstairs, which can be a bit inconvenient.

I had a lovely short stay at Balkan Han Hostel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were fantastic! The beds were surprisingly spacious and comfortable, unlike any other hostel I've stayed in. The hostel also had a great kitchen, garden area, and bar. Its location on a quiet street was perfect, as it only took a couple minutes to walk to the heart of the town. The welcome with a glass of rakija was a nice touch, and the hostel had a charming board-floored yard.
I recommend this hostel.

Friendly and helpful staff who made me feel welcome and provided assistance when needed. Clean and well-maintained rooms that ensured a comfortable stay. - Great location, conveniently situated near main attractions and within walking distance of bars and restaurants.
The small shower/toilet spaces in the bathrooms were a bit cramped and could be improved. Limited access to outdoor common areas due to low season and cold weather, which resulted in early quiet hours being enforced.

The hostel has a convenient location near the Eternal Flame, bars, and clubs. The manager, Ivan, is helpful and sets up a projector for watching big matches. The beds are comfy, there are lockers available, and shower mats are provided. The hostel has a nice garden and a chill atmosphere, perfect for socializing and meeting people. The volunteers and owner are friendly, and there is a bar with reasonable prices. Laundry service is available for a fee, and the hostel is within walking distance to the old town.
Felt totally at home, no reason to complain.

The mixed dormitory and toilets were incredibly comfortable and clean, and I had the pleasure of having excellent roommates. The manager/owner and volunteer staff were beyond friendly and supportive. They even offered a mind-blowing tour of the city that we all enjoyed immensely. The common areas and backyard provided a super chill atmosphere. The small but well-equipped shared kitchen had everything I needed for cooking. Highly recommend!
